Steering group

Since 1996 all works at the church have been overseen by a Steering Group in order to facilitate access to expert advice and funding. The group consists of representatives from

  • The Friends of St Mary's Trust
  • English Heritage
  • Norfolk County Council
  • The Council for the Care of Churches
  • Appointed church surveyor

This group has supervised monitoring of the wall paintings since their discovery, and co-ordinated the successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid of 2006 which completed the conservation of the wall paintings, installed lighting and new furniture, and provided interpretation material for visitors. It will continue to meet regularly in order to co-ordinate and support implementation of policies and action plans set down in the conservation and management plan.
